In regards to your inquiry, be advised if a commutation application was denied in December 2023, petitioners are welcome to reapply now. Petitioners do NOT need to wait to submit a new application. This new application is an opportunity to provide an update on anything that has changed since they submitted their last application and will require updated application forms.

If petitioners choose to reapply, they can use our new-and-improved application forms. The commutation application form was revised and simplified in December 2023. The new form is available now within BOP facilities, and will soon be available in Spanish.

Sincerely,

Office of the Pardon Attorney
